Hello Carla,
What a wonderful testimony of God's healing power. I pray even now that God will continue that He has begun in your body and that you will be made whole.

I would love to crochet a prayer shawl for you. I am working on a project at the moment and I can not give you a date today of when I can begin it. Let me take alook at my schedule and I can at least give you a time frame.

Reading about your ministry brought me to tears.

The Lord saved me from near death with pneumonia, but I am still suffering debilitating symptoms.

I would love to be blessed by your hands of healing with one of your devine prayer shawls.

May the Lord's angels watch over your hands of blessing.

Lakeitia,
I think you are right or we could both be wrong... But it has been my personal experience that I have not been able to connect with many other African Americans that are actually active in the art of crochet outside of my immediate family. It was my cousin who taught me how to crochet when I was around 10 years old and it just has stayed with me over the years. I also have an aunt who also crochets.

With that being said, think that if we are to increase awareness in our African American community then the key is to bring awareness within our families and teach it to our children and pass it from generation to generation.

Crochet has even become a form of worship for me as I pray and meditate on the goodness of God as I crochet and as I pray for the individual that I am crocheting for. It can become a spiritual experience and journey.

Do you crochet and how long have you crocheted? I will share some resources with you I think will be great as to start a ministry in your area. I will be writing an article here on the site real soon. I hope you come back again and I welcome your ideas as well.
